What You Will Learn: Full Beginner Curriculum
Stage 1: Arabic Alphabet and Reading Foundation
Before reading the Quran, you need to be able to read Arabic. This step feels intimidating to a lot of adult beginners, but with the right teacher and method, most people pick up the Arabic alphabet faster than they expect. We use the Norani Qaida method, a widely proven approach to teaching Arabic reading from scratch.
- All 29 Arabic letters: recognition, names, and pronunciation
- Short vowels (Fatha, Kasra, Damma) and how they change letter sounds
- Tanween, Sukoon, and Shaddah, the three essential pronunciation signs
- Long vowels (Madd letters): Alif, Waw, Ya
- Joining letters into words, the step that leads directly into Quran reading
Stage 2: Quran Reading (Nazra)
Once you can read Arabic words confidently, you move into reading the Holy Quran itself. You start with Surah Al Fatiha and work through the short Surahs of Juz Amma before progressing to longer chapters, with your teacher correcting pronunciation as you go.
- Reading Surah Al Fatiha, the opening recited in every prayer
- Reading Juz Amma, the short Surahs used most often in daily Salah
- Gradual progress into longer Surahs of the Quran
- Correct pronunciation with basic Tajweed applied along the way
Stage 3: Basic Tajweed Rules
As your reading becomes more fluent, we introduce the fundamental Tajweed rules that govern correct recitation. This isn’t the full Tajweed course; it’s the essential rules every reader needs to recite correctly in Salah.
- Makharij: correct articulation of the letters people most often mispronounce
- Basic Noon Sakinah rules: Izhar and Ikhfa
- Basic Madd: when to elongate a vowel sound and when not to
- Waqf, how to stop correctly at the end of a Quranic verse
Stage 4: Essential Duas and Short Surahs for Salah
Alongside Quran reading, every beginner needs the Duas and Surahs used in daily Salah. This part of the course means what you learn in class shows up directly in your prayer, even early on.
- Surah Al Fatiha with correct Tajweed, recited in every unit of Salah
- Short Surahs: Al Ikhlas, Al Falaq, An Nas, Al Kawthar, Al Asr
- Dua Al Qunoot for Witr prayer
- Tashahhud and Salawat, recited in every Salah

Frequently Asked Questions
I'm a new Muslim with no Arabic knowledge at all, is this course right for me?
Yes, this course was built with exactly that in mind. We start from the very first Arabic letter with no assumptions and no judgment. Some of our most motivated students are new Muslims who bring real dedication and progress quickly as a result.
I grew up Muslim but never properly learned to read the Quran; am I too old to start?
You’re never too old. We regularly teach students in their 30s, 40s, 50s, and beyond. Adult learners often move faster than children because of their focus and motivation. Your journey starts wherever you happen to be right now.
How long does it take to go from zero to reading the Quran?
With three lessons a week, most adult beginners can read the Quran independently within 6 to 12 months. Daily lessons speed that up. The real variable is consistency and practice between classes.
Do you have female teachers for adult women?
Yes. Female students are matched with a qualified female teacher on request, and this is standard across every course we offer.
What happens after I finish the beginners course?
You’ll be a confident Quran reader with the foundational Tajweed knowledge needed for correct Salah recitation. From there, most students continue into the full Quran with Tajweed course to master all the recitation rules, or begin Hifz to memorize the Quran.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Your first week of classes is completely free, no payment or card required.
